Data Innovations (DI) today announces the release of version 8.13 of Instrument Manager, the latest version of the leading middleware product, featuring new updates to Specimen Management as well as user security enhancements.
New within Specimen Management workspace, users can create filters to enter search criteria to quickly and easily find groups or specific specimens matching the conditions. This feature, called Dynamic Filters, allows users to leverage the extensive filtering functionality within Specimen Management Workspaces while allowing additional filtering criteria to be entered dynamically.
Instrument Manager is used in many highly regulated laboratory environments and we continually enhance our system to help implement a laboratory system in a manner consistent with the guidelines found in the FDA regulation, 21CFR Part 11 Electronic Records and Electronic Signatures. Within this update are two additional options, re-authentication and auto-logoff, to further assist these customers. The re-authentication option allows the system to be configured for certain Instrument Manager (IM) actions to require users to re-enter their password before IM will perform the action. The username associated with any actions that require a user to re-authenticate will be recorded in the System Log. With the automatic log off option, IM can be configured to automatically log a user off after a pre-defined idle period.
