Presentations
|
|
Presentations and other learning aids used during instructor-led training courses. Data Innovations makes these available for customers to use as refresher material or in support of your own facility’s internal training.
To access the presentations, you must log into our Customer Web Portal. Click here to select the web portal for your region.
The following are the available Presentations and a brief description of each:
Clustering and Pseudo Clustering: Clustering and Pseudo Clustering are two techniques to synchronize the operation of multiple instruments. This presentation describes both techniques and how they can be used to achieve database synchronization.
Design and Validation of Rules: Review of this presentation is strongly suggested for anyone writing rules in Instrument Manager. This presentation outlines the suggested process in the design, writing and testing of rules used in Instrument Manager.
Moving from 8.04 to 8.06: Several of the enhancements in 8.06 will significantly impact user interaction with Instrument Manager. This presentation gives a detailed review of the new features associated with 8.06 and how they correlate to the features of 8.04.

Video Demonstrations
|
|
Focusing on specific IM-related software processes, these “How do I…” video demonstrations take you through step-by-step sequences showing the actual screens you will use to successfully accomplish each process.
To access the video demonstrations, you must log into our Customer Web Portal. Click here to select the web portal for your region.
Viewing these videos requires Adobe® Flash® Player. You can obtain this software free of charge from Adobe. Be sure to follow the instructions for your operating system when downloading and installing this software.
The following are the available Video Demonstrations and a brief description of each:
Daily Maintenance of a Hot Backup System: Data Innovations recommends that users monitor journaling on a daily basis to ensure that the journal files are actively being processed on the Shadow system. This demo demonstrates the monitoring procedure.
Connection Assignment: Connection Assignment is the process of adding a new connection to Instrument Manager. This demonstration takes you through the step by step process from naming of the connection to startup using real life examples.
Creating a Hematology-centric Workspace: Review of hematology data may include automated results, images and subsequent follow up manual cell counting. This “how to” demo shows you the steps in designing an SM Workspace specifically designed for the hematology department. Using this Workspace you will be able to simultaneously display instrument results and images for review while performing a manual differential counts.
Installing IM License Files on a New System: License files are necessary to determine accessibility to modules and the number of active connections available for your Instrument Manager. During the initial installation of Instrument Manager the license files must be placed properly in the system file structure. This short demo shows you how to “install” the license files.
Instrument Test Code Mapping: Often, for purposes of user clarity, cross instrument consistency, or control of reporting, it is necessary to map the test codes sent by the LIS to test codes used internally by various analyzers. This demonstration shows you the process of mapping the test codes sent by the LIS to corresponding test codes used internally by an instrument.
LIS Test Code Mapping: Occasionally, for purposes of user clarity, cross instrument consistency, or control of reporting, it is necessary to map the test codes used by the LIS to test codes used internally by Instrument Manager. This demonstration shows you the process of mapping the test codes used by the LIS to corresponding test codes used internally by Instrument Manager.
Loading a Driver: There are a variety of circumstances that require the user to load a driver into Instrument Manager™. Interfacing new instruments, revised communication protocols or enhancements to current driver features may require that a new or revised driver be loaded into the system. This demo walks you through the steps required to correctly load a driver from either a CD or a zip file.
Proper Shut Down of Instrument Manager Systems: Safely shutting down the Instrument Manager application, it's underlying Cache database and the computer on which the system is running is demonstrated in this demo. Using the procedure shown assure that each program closes in a controlled manner.
Replacing License Files on Existing System: License files are necessary to determine accessibility to modules and the number of active connections available for your Instrument Manager. Typically, updated license files are required when adding connections, adding packages (such as Specimen Management) or adding a system such as a Hot Backup. This presentation shows all the steps necessary for replacing license files on existing systems _______________________________________________________________________________________________ |
