INSTRUMENT MANAGER™ Patch Upgrades

IMPORTANT:
These downloads are PATCH upgrades.

Do NOT extract the contents of any of these Zip files into your C:\ drive (i.e., the root of your primary hard drive).

Always create a NEW folder and then extract the contents of the Zip file into that folder.

Do NOT use any of these patch upgrades to perform a FULL version upgrade.

You MUST request an upgrade kit (by contacting our sales department) if you want to upgrade as follows:

Check Security Key Compatibility Before An 8.05 or 8.06 Upgrade

Before you upgrade to Instrument Manager v8.05 or v8.06, use these instructions to determine whether your Security Key is compatible with this version of IM. To check your Security Key Compatibility, you will need to download this zip file.

Cache ODBC Driver

This driver is available for use by Instrument Manager 8.05 and 8.06 users.

Upgrading to v8.06.03

IMPORTANT: This is an important patch upgrade for customers with Specimen Management using Specimen Management Rules. This patch addresses the DI-Alert notice issued to customers on October 26, 2007.

Click on the link below to download IM version 8.06.03 patch upgrade software. If you are not currently using version 8.05.03 of Instrument Manager, you will need to upgrade Cache prior to upgrading to v8.06.

Follow the instructions in Chapter 1 of the IM v8.06 Upgrade Manual to upgrade to version 8.06.03. After you install this patch upgrade, your IM software will be upgraded to version 8.06.03.

NOTE:
The Upgrade Manual explains how to run the upgrade program from a CD-ROM as opposed to a Zip file. You must extract the contents of this Zip file into a new folder location on your hard drive. When following the instructions in the Upgrade Manual, substitute your hard-disk based folder location for the CD-ROM based folder location mentioned in the manual.

IM Version 8.05 Users

IMPORTANT: This is an important patch upgrade for 8.05 Hot Backup customers. This patch addresses the Alert notice issued to customers on March 9, 2007.

IMPORTANT: This is an important patch upgrade for customers with Specimen Management using the Results Review/Edit/Release screen. This patch addresses the DI-Alert notice issued to customers on August 10, 2006.

DO NOT use this upgrade if you are running an earlier version of IM such as v7.00, 7.01, or 7.02.
You MUST be running IM version 7.04 before you install this patch upgrade.

WARNING: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.01 SP2 or higher must be installed on your computer system in order to run this upgrade. If you do NOT have this software installed on your computer system, and you run this upgrade, you will get an error message similar to "Error installing Ikernel.exe (0x any number)."

After you install this patch, your IM software will be upgraded from version 5.01.xxxx to version 5.01.0011.

NOTE for v5.01.xxxx and v6.00.xxxx Users:
If you are running Instrument Manager™ version 5.01.xxxx or version 6.00.xxxx you must upgrade your core software prior to installing IM drivers.
NOTE: These downloads upgrade your core software to the latest version's patch. For example, if you were running IM version 6.00.0002 and ran the version 6 upgrade, you would be upgraded to IM version 6.00.0006.
