Data Innovations' Specimen Storage and Retrievalpackage offers you the ability to track and store your specimens. Youwill discover its unparalleled ease of use through the followingfeatures:

• The ability to interface to automated carrier filling devices
• The ability to manually define and fill a carrier and input SIDs via keyboard or bar code reader
• Simultaneous support for an unlimited number of unique carrier types
• The ability to identify carriers through a user-defined carrier ID algorithm
• The ability to print carrier bar code labels in a user-defined format
• Theability to define multiple level specimen location, including carrierlocation, carrier ID, and specimen position within a carrier
• The ability to query the storage database by SID, PID, or patient name with optional logout of found specimen(s)
• The ability to transmit a report of carriers that are past the user-defined retention time
• The ability to transmit storage information to the host via NCCLS standards

With Instrument Manager™'s Specimen Storage Lookup you can:

• Search for specimens based on their SID, PID, or Patient Name
• Sort storage lookup information by its grid heading
• Logout individual specimens or use the expedient batching features to look up individual specimens and add them to a batch
• Once your batch is complete you can print a report and/or logout a batch

Instrument Manager™ allows you to:

• Define the retention time for each Carrier type
• Quickly locate all Carriers to be destroyed as of a specified date using a simple search-by-date-to-be-destroyed feature
• You can also batch the Carriers you wish to be destroyed, print a report, and destroy the batch

Instrument Manager™'s Specimen Storage and Retrieval package includes:

• The ability to define and fill a carrier manually
• The ability to print barcode labels in a user-defined format
• The ability to send carrier contents to your Laboratory Information System
• Crosschecking, which automatically checks and warns you if a specimen has any pending tests.

NOTE: For Pre- Storage Cross-Checking to be enabled, you must also have the Specimen Management package.

Specimen Storage and Retrieval now offers youthe added functionality of Report Designer. This built in componentoffers you the ability to create bar code labels in a user-definedformat. Report Designer allows you to create labels in which youspecify the data elements to include, the size and shape of the label,the printer to be used, etc. You can drag and drop objects onto yourlabel to create an unlimited number of label formats. You can printthose labels using generated specimen and patient data.
